Boogaloo Bootleggin

Now for a bootleg of José Gonzales. Crosses has had remix attention from Stanton Warriors in the past. Time for Boogaloo Crew to work their stuff on the track. It's got a beautifully atmospheric synth breakdown and drops into a steppy number. I can't help thinking it's got serious summer vibes about it.....

José Gonzales - Crosses (Boogaloo Crew Bootleg)

Bonus: here is a refix of a tune that was massive last summer. You knows it!

Major Lazor - Hold The Line (DJ Madd Refix)

DUB SOULJAH'S

Dub Souljah's is a new night launching on Friday the 9th of April, at Kings Cross venue The Driver. A solid lineup topped by the formidable Silkie and a heavy duty sound system equates to a night of sub bass mayhem.

Silkie has been one of the few artists to keep the original sound of dubstep ever present in his production. The constant splitting up of dubstep into various sub genres over the last few years, has meant that fewer producers stay true to the old style sound. Silkie has kept it together but has let various elements influence his sound too, it all pieces together to create an exhilarating mash up of style and a fantastic sound.

Silkie - Purple Love

Silkie - Head Butt Da Deck

Clock his remix of Skream too, it's dirty. Sorry about it being a radio rip but high quality versions have been kept on serious lockdown.

BoogaLoo Crew are also on the bill. Expect to hear some quality party tunes from them maybe even a peak at their side project productions under the name Dark Sky.

DRT - Rising Sun (BoogaLoo Crew Remix)

The link to the facebook group can be found here, all the information is there including times location

For the launch night there is a CrashBleepBang guest list if you want to get on it mail names to Jossa123@googlemail.co.uk and you'll get in a bit cheaper.

Should be a banger of a night, make sure you head down and mail your name for guest list...

Soul Time

I'm feeling stuff a groovy soulful vibe right now, hopefully I've picked out some nice stuff for you to groove too as well.

Strictly speaking this isn't so in keeping with the soulful vibe, but it's a real bouncer of a track. London's Seiji made a name for himself remixing various people and has shown himself to be a varied and multi-talented producer. This is an original track of his, bouncy drums and stabbing synth slabs galore, be sure to come to Trouble Vision at Corsica Studios in London to see more of this....

Seiji - Hohoho

Oliver $ has been around a while now. In 2007 he co produced with Jesse Rose and has since gone from strength to strength and now has several releases on Rose's brilliant label Made to Play. This a track from one of the latest ep's has been much hyped and played out by the usual crowd of tech house dj's (ZDS, Renaissance Man, Riva Starr). It's a jazzy number, got to love it...

Oliver $ - Lost Arrival

Everyone knows Pilooski because of his edit of Frankie Valli's Beggin, which unfortunately became one of those songs that is played on main stream radio 8 times a day and driven into the ground. This is by no means new material from the French man, it's different and more interesting though.

The Pointer Sisters - Send Him Back (Pilooski Edit)

A collaboration between Jaimie Jones and Lee Foss. Everything these two do together is made with the party and most probably the ladies in mind. Nice soulful house

Hot Natured - Modern Amusement

What to say about Roy. He is a house music legend and general soulful geezer. You should recognize this tune it's a classic. Made in the early 1990's it's been an inspiration to so many, Gilles Peterson put it on desert island mix, has to be a contender, right?

Roy Davis Jr. - Gabriel

Floating Points blurs the boundaries between house, dubstep, techno and disco. This track has some beautifully spacey synth work

Floating Points - Truly

hope you enjoy the tracks

Hendrix Rhythms

Anyway you look at it Warp is an amazing label. They have scores of fantastic artists on their bill Hudson Mohawke for example, who has been hugely successful since the release of his album Butter. Flying Lotus is also on Warp and anyway you look at him, he is the fucking man. His small label Brainfeeder has some of the most original and cutting edge artists around and his tunes are spectacular too (coming from the same bloodline as John Coltrane could only really equate to being good at creating sound waves).

Gonjasufi is the man i'm digging right now though. His album A Sufi and a Killer is out now on Warp and is truly spectacular. The guy used to be a Yoga teacher in California until he had a dream.....

"I had a dream one time that I was at an outdoor Hendrix concert and all of a sudden, as Jimi walked towards the stage, our eyes locked, man. It was just fucking intense. Intense. When I woke up, I felt like he was checking on me, like, 'Hey, I'm watching you bro.'"

He obviously thought it was time to start making music after that particular nights sleep. His album is like no other released in 2010 or the end of 2009 for that matter. Drawing on influences from all over the place it is hard to pin down and label his music with a particular genre, but it's better that way anyway. He's got a pretty good voice too which appears in a number of the tracks....

here's a couple of them (not full quality)

Gonjasufi - Klowds

Gonjasufi - Candylane

And here is a little interview clip of him, with the Gaslamp Killer, who helped produce the album along with Fly Lo.

Big up to Warp and the Brainfeeder crew basically...

DOC DANEEKA / GREENA

GIRL UNIT / OLIVER RANT

The Big Chill House, Kings Cross, LDN

**FREE BEFORE 10pm, £5 AFTER**

FRIDAY 19TH MARCH 2010

THE BIG CHILL PRESENTS a monthly flagship event at THE BIG CHILL HOUSE in KINGS CROSS, LDN focused on bringing you some of the biggest and most exciting names in music. This month we are hitting spring so thought after a long hard winter we would give you something totally TROPICAL!

Taking the lead role we have RADIOCLIT; the British DJ/production duo, Johan Karlberg and Etienne Tron, who call their brand of African beat-driven house ‘ghettopop’. They began in 2005 with their residency at the Old Blue Last. Whether it was DAVID BANNER slamming through the crowd, SINDEN or DIPLO blowing up the spot, they were alerting London to some of the heaviest talent to emerge for a long time. Together with SWITCH, M.I.A, BURAKA SOM SISTEMA, BONDE DO ROLE, ED BANGER and INSTITUBES, there’s now a fervently innovative worldwide scene with arms linked, with Radioclit playing an essential part of that chain. RADIOCLIT further cemented their name within the afro-beat ‘ghettopop’ sound collaborating with acclaimed African vocalist ESAU MWAMWAYA on THE VERY BEST we are incredibly excited to welcome this duo to the BIG CHILL PRESENTS!

DOC DANEEKA is second on the bill. A fast-rising star, The DOC has just had his latest single DRUMS IN THE DEEP featured on FABRIC’S ELEVATOR MUSIC VOL 1 earmarking him for very big things. Add to this killer remixes of DELPHIC and DIGITAL MYSTIKZ and the fact his remix edit of GATTO VIOLA made GILLES PETERSON’s 2009 winners list, we’re very proud to be getting this man down!

Supporting we have three of London’s most exciting new talents, first up 23-year-old Londoner GREENA is the new master of genre busting! Putting another spin on house he sails through vintage techno, ghettotech, upfront house, and even some grime-flavored R&B. Next up South Londoner Philip aka GIRL UNIT creates perfect Tropical house, there for he is the perfect pea for this pod. He has been taken under the wing of the NIGHT SLUGS label so expect to hear a lot more from this man soon! Rounding up the line up we have OLIVER RANT formerly one half of the duo Crystal Death Oliver has gone solo with an old school rave slant on everything from electro house and tech step.

This event will be FREE BEFORE 10pm, £5 AFTER. GET THERE EARLY!
