Isn't It Ironic How All You Want To Do Is Smoke Chronic

Now, for some house music from all ends of the spectrum. Chicago influenced deep house, tech house and disco house this post is just serving to indicate the variety that is out there at the moment....

Nice to see Ramadanman team up with his mate Midland to make this bouncy track

Ramadanman & Midland - Your Words Matter

Doc Daneeka is one to watch for 2010. His remixes have been getting him much acclaim. This one is as bouncy and soulful as the others before it

GattoViola - Backstabbin Angie For A Ten Bag (Doc Daneeka Edit)

Loving the vocals on this one from Argentine Christian Malloni, remixed by Swiss tech houser Loko

Christian Malloni - Agua Ardiente (Loko Remix)

Kink is Bulgaria's answer to a massive black house pioneer from Chicago, here is his remix of German house wizards the Lovebirds, check out the original mix, it's a beaut

Lovebirds - My Man (Kink Remix)

Lovely female voice in this tidy disco track

Flight Facilities - Crave You (Bxentric Remix)

Strange Brew

Like a lot of students at this time of the year, I'm currently under a lot of pressure from work. Still I've decided to take a bit of time away from the weighty tomes to piece together a small batch of tunes that i've got from other blogs recently which i'm appreciating greatly...

Archie Hamilton's remix of Stardust is hefty bass reworking, fading in the original vocals at each breakdown, nice stuff

Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (Archie Hamilton's Space Dust Bootleg)

A good 4 to the floor reworking of Lou Reed's classic from Holtoug...

Lou Reed - Walk On The Wild Side (Holtoug Bootleg)

Doc Daneeka's remix of Sekta's popular club banger, strips down the aggressive synth slabs from the original, adds a more percussive funky beat and keeps Spoek Mathambo's vocals together.

Sekta f. Spoek Mathambo - Peterpan (Doc Daneeka Remix)

Bonus Beat....

MJ Cole's 2 step remix of De La Soul is an absolute beaut. How can you not bust a limb to it?

De La Soul - All Good (Mj Cole Remix)

there will be some more posts on the way soon...

Delphic Remixes

Delphic are a 3 piece band from Manchester. They blend euphoric sounding electronic elements with guitars and indie drumming to create a very original upbeat and danceable form of indie electronica. They have been hyped up a lot by the BBC and are one of the 15 shortlisted music acts for the BBC Sound of 2010. As of January they've been placed 3rd in the table. Their music leaves a lot of potential for remixing so it's not surprising that three of the Uk's best young house producers have stepped up to the task.

L-Vis 1990, Julio Bashmore and Doc Daneeka have all had a go. Wait till the 1.50 mark of the L-Vis track for the huge drop that we've all come to love and expect from his productions. I like this one because it really keeps the vocals of the song together in the breakdown, then smashes everything all over the place when it drops, one for the dance floor for sure.

Julio Bashmore adds the trademark pounding bassline and snappy beat, while keeping the fading synth slabs

Doc Daneeka hits up the percussive style beat and cut up vocal samples, and slaps over another pounding bassline

heavy stuff, and just another indication of the seriously good stuff coming out of the Uk House/Uk Funky crossover....

Delphic - Halcyon (Julio Bashmore Remix)

Delphic - Halcyon (L-Vis 1990 Remix)

Delphic - Doubt (Doc Daneeka's All For Space Grime)

Leaving you with the video for Halcyon, which has been up for loads of awards

enjoy the tracks

Greena Pastures

Got three big tunes from some of the best funky/garage/2-step/house producers that london is throwing out....

Not his first mention on this blog, it's Roska. Here's a remix he's done of Love Cry by Four Tet. Joy Orbison has already had a pretty sweet crack at it, Roska has gone super funky with it. Percussive drums and a nice scaled bassline, one to skank to. There is only one thing that bugs me about Roska tunes and that's the roska! roska! roska! vocal samples, but I suppose that it's kind of like his signature....

Four Tet - Love Cry (Roska Remix)

Doc Daneeka, another associated with things tropical and funky. Taking on a Jazzanova tune, the result is a song that I literally can't not bounce to. Love the vocal samples, sweet bouncy bassline and stabby beat. Big!

Jazzanova - I Can See (Doc Daneeka Dub-Bump Mix)

Mosca and Greena are both young and on the rise. Keep an eye on both, and at the same time Nightslugs the new London label run by Bok Bok, there's going to be some wicked tunes coming out on it. Check out Greena's XLR8R podcast, full of tracks from top players...

Square One (Greena Remix) - Mosca

new dubstep post coming soon
